GUJRANWALA-About 2,179 laptops were distributed to the position holders of inter examination during a ceremony held here on Tuesday.

Punjab Minister for Local Government ManshauIllah Butt said that information technology is a must for progress and development of a nation.

The Punjab government is investing huge amount to provide the students with modern technology as about 310,000 laptops have been distributed to students. He said the establishment of IT labs in all high and middle schools of the province was a proof of Paro Punjab Baro Punab vision of Shahbaz Sharif. The minister said that the progress, stability and educational revolution in the country could be brought about only through education and distribution of laptops.

DAY OBSERVED: A walk was held by Social Security Hospital for create awareness about diabetes. DHQ Hospital MS Dr Anwar Aman, Dr Tayyab Sarwar Mir, other doctors, paramedical staff and people from different walks of life participated in the walk.

Addressing on the occasion, speakers stressed upon the need to adopt protective measures about diabetes so that it could be got controlled in the country. Meanwhile, a medical camp was also organised by the hospital administration in which patients were provided with check-up and medicines facility.
