Diplomats advised to avoid unnecessary travelling

ISLAMABAD - After intelligence report about threat of terrorist attacks, the authorities of Islamabad capital territory on Friday further tightened security in the city.
The report, The Nation learnt on Friday, did not specify if the terrorists were planning to target the marchers; however, the report panicked Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and others.
"Yes, we have received fresh directives from federal interior ministry to beef up security. Following the directions, we have intensified security across the capital city. Additional contingents of police have been deployed to provide security to the participants of long march," AIG police said.
Fresh troops of frontier constabulary, rangers and police were deployed at Zero Point to provide foolproof security to the marchers.
Meanwhile, the federal government advised foreign diplomats residing in Islamabad to avoid unnecessary travelling across the country.
