KWSB directed to enhance monitoring system

KARACHI - Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon has advised the KW&SB to ensure potable water supply to all people without any discrimination. He emphasized upon to enhance the monitoring system efficiently.

He said this while visiting the Head Office of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board on Friday morning. MD KW&SB Hashim Raza Zaidi briefed him about the water supply mechanism including functioning of S-III and K-IV projects with the help of charts and maps.

Zaidi informed that computerized complaint receipt and disposal system is operational, under which at least 700 complaints are disposed off, monthly. He pointed out that 540 mgd water supplied to the citizens daily. Project Director K-IV water project requested the assistance of Sindh government for removal of slight encroached area in the K-IV Water Project.

Rizwan Memon was also told that the old machines are being replaced under a 30 months replacement programme comprising the period from Dec. 2016 to June 2019.

The chief secretary maintained that strict and timely compliance of the court orders must be accorded, without any delay.
