JIT formed to probe lawyers attack on IHC

ISLAMABAD-The Chief Commissioner Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has formed a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the matter of more than 300 lawyers involved in storming the Islamabad High Court (IHC), informed sources on Monday.
The JIT was constituted by the Chief Commissioner ICT on a request made by DIG Operations vide letter number 836/Admin/DIG/Ops dated 9/2/2021 in which he stated that the FIR No 99/21 u/s 7 ATA, 147/228/186/341/353/440/427/506, registered with PS Ramna has been registered under Anti Terrorism Act, 1997 which is required to be investigated through a joint investigation team. The JIT comprised SSP Investigation, SP CTD, SP Saddar Zone, SDPO Ramna, SHO PS Ramna, I/O Inspector Abdul Jabbar and members of ISI, MI and IB.
Meanwhile, Chief Commissioner ICT also issued posting and transfer orders of two SPs of Islamabad police. According to a police spokesman, SP Saddar Zone Sarfraz Virk was transferred and posted as SP Traffic, whereas, SP Hamzah Humayun, who was serving as SP Traffic, was posted as SP Saddar Zone.
