This refers to a news item published in your daily on January 11, 2010, according to which, the PPP and MQM have agreed to a ceasefire in the interest of law and order in Karachi. We appreciate this move but I would like to ask the leaders of both these parties that who is responsible for the recent target killings of 38 innocent workers of both your parties. It is a matter of great shame that while the country was bitterly engaged in the war of terror that devastated the economy, the two allies were engaged in a bloody confrontation in the financial hub of the country. Were they being faithful to the interests of their voters? A sense of responsibility and patriotism must prevail among our political leaders otherwise they would be remembered as traitors. -K. H.
