FAISALABAD - Dr Munir A Sheikh was elected president Academic Staff Association (ASA), University of Agriculture, Faisalabad for year 2012, here in annual elections held. Dr Munir secured 245 votes and was declared winner for a period of one year. Chief Election Commissioner for ASA elctions, Dr Faqir Anjum announced the results. Dr Munir defeated his rival Dr Bilal Saeed who got 223 votes. Similarly, Dr Khalid Mahmood was elected VP with 232 votes while his rival candidate Dr Ihsan Qadir got 200 votes. M Imran was declared successful for the slot of Vice President II. Aamir Saeed secured the slot of Secretary by leaving behind Dr Saghir. According to the results, M Nadeem will be Joint Secretary against contestant Karim Yar Abbasi. Dr M Tahir is elected Treasure against Hafeezur Rehman. Dr Adnan and Abdus Samie will serve as councillors.
