Rescind statement, Shahbaz asks Gilani


LAHORE - Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has said that PPP is trying to use parliament for its war against institutions which we will never be allow to succeed. In a statement issued on Sunday, the chief minister said that the ruling group was asking for trouble by adopting the way of confrontation with national institutions like Army and judiciary.
He said that the statement of Prime Minister against Pak Army was the part of the same campaign of the PPP leadership. “I honestly believe that this extremely irresponsible and condemnable statement has been issued on the behest of President Zardari and it is nothing except endorsement of such recent steps and statements of the president.  The CM demanded of the prime minister to withdraw the statement instead of submitting explanations, and also apologize to the people of Pakistan. “So far as the democracy and its future was concerned, leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-N and its workers have rendered unprecedented sacrifices”, he added.
He PML-N believed that the dictators who toppled the democratic governments not only ruined the country but also undermined the repute and professional abilities of Pak Army. “But due to misdeeds of few adventurists, we will not allow anyone to ridicule Pak Army, its unprecedented sacrifices for the motherland and to demoralize it”, he further said.   Shahbaz Sharif said that time had come that the nation should stand up against the rulers to stop them who are bent upon the destruction of institutions in the name of survival of democracy. The future of democracy cannot be guaranteed by weakening the institutions being backbone for any democratic society, the statement concluded.
