KARAK - PTI Chairman Imran Khan has said that imparting quality education to youth is part of the PTI’s vision. He stated this while delivering a lecture on “Leadership and good governance” at the Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak on Monday.
He said that education was not the priority of successive governments that is why the nation remained backward.
He said that imparting quality education to youth was part of the PTI’s vision and under this vision provision of all facilities relating to education would be ensured. He asked the students not to compromise on their vision but render efforts for achievement of their dreams. The PTI chairman advised the students that they should not be afraid of difficult times but should have the courage to face it bravely to turn it into a success. He further asked the students not to bring fear of failure in their minds if they face a difficult task in life they should turn it into an opportunity.
He underlined the need for working in a team spirit and select members on merit because merit was the guarantee for establishment of successful institutions. The PTI chairman termed corruption a root cause of failure of institutions in the country and added that the institutions could be made more effective by eradicating the scourge.
He informed that only five per cent students could hardly reach the higher educational institutions and it becomes their responsibility to work for the welfare of the downtrodden classes of the society as well as for the betterment of society.
He said that youth were the last ray of hope and they should work collectively for making progress and prosperity of the country. He said that the provincial government would resolve all problems being faced by the Khushal Khan Khattak University. He said that the government would also release its oil and gas royalty funds which were held from the last three years. He expressed optimism that the graduated students of KKKUK would bear the qualities of renowned Pashto scholar and poet Khushal Baba.
KP Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said that higher education department was working for promotion of higher education in the province. He informed that applied sciences university and technical education university were being established for first time in the province which was a big achievement of the incumbent government. He said that work on the building of KKKUK would be started in two months.
The minster assured that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and higher education department would utilise its energies for resolving the financial and other issues of the University on priority basis so that work on its building could be started as early as possible.
Earlier Vice Chancellor Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak Professor Dr Jehan Bakht in his address welcomed Chairman PTI Imran Khan, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani and other dignitaries to the universities.
He informed that there were nine departments in the university. He added that a piece of 500 Kanals land has been acquired and estimated cost of the university new building was about Rs7 billion. He requested the provincial government to release funds for the construction of the university so that the requirements of the students could be met. The vice chancellor underlined the need for release of its due shares in oil and gas royalty funds which had been suspended for the last three years.
On the occasion KP Information Minister Shah Farman, Advisor to Chief Minister on Prisons Affairs Malik Qasim Khan Khattak, MPAs Gul Sahib Khan, Deena Naz Khattak and Zareen Zia were also present.
