Peace in Afghanistan depicts peace in Pakistan: COAS

Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa has said that Pakistan will continue to facilitate the intra-Afghan talks in the neighbouring country, as peace in Pakistan follows peace in Afghanistan.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Qamar Bajwa made this statement on a visit to Corps Headquarter Peshawar on Friday.

Moreover, the COAS was given detailed briefing on the current security situation, border management and fencing as well as capacity enhancement of Frontier Corps (FC) and police in newly merged tribal districts as a result of transition to stability.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa appreciated the officers and soldiers of Peshawar Corps and lauded the efforts of law enforcement agencies including FC and police for bringing stability in the tribal districts.

The COAS also hailed the sacrifices made by the locals for peace and their earnest support to Armed Forces in the war against terrorism. He said that ongoing consolidation efforts shall take the hard earned gains towards enduring peace and stability.

Also, highlighting the dividends of border control measures, COAS General Bajwa said that Pakistan would continue to support the ongoing intra Afghan dialogue as peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan.
