Turkish Professor Dr Muge Gundogdu Pediatric haematology and oncology specialist diagnoses Thalassemia patients in Lahore

The famous Turkish hematologist Professor Muge arrived in Lahore and diagnosed the Thalassemia patients in a private hotel.

On that occasion, she had said that I am a child specialist hematologist and have been providing services in this field for fifteen years. She also uttered that I have become successful in bringing light to the lives of saplings after the execution of hundreds of operations. The friendship between Turkey and Pakistan is unprecedented. I have come here to share different experiences with the local doctors regarding children's blood disorders and Thalassemia. Major Thalassemia cases are mostly existing in Pakistan.

For bone marrow transplantation there is a requirement to open a bank in Pakistan. In the Turkish medical department developed for assisting Pakistan, the well-known Sergen Prof. Muge appointed in Memorial Cancer Hospital Turki, held a medical camp to diagnose patients suffering from Haemophilia, Thalassemia, and Blood disorders, and hundreds of the patients made their medical check-up.

The Surgeon of Turkish Memorial Hospital, May also said that I am extremely happy to visit Pakistan because we aim to take care of your children's health. We own a donor bank and we can facilitate the needy people to find out the donor through any part of the world along with Turkish territory. Those individuals who reached there in the camp said that they were enabled with the best facilities of checkup throughout the camp duration.

The Prof. also discussed that before getting married, the Thalassemia test must be executed because it would be helpful in the treatment of Thalassemia and Haemophilia. Additionally, the report published by the local organisation indicates that approximately  100,000 patients are suffering from Thalassemia and Haemophilia along with other blood disorders. The patients affected by these diseases are required to have regular blood transfusions and iron chelation after consulting with a qualified Hematologist.

But, regular diagnostic investigations on monthly basis are unaffordable for poor communities in Pakistan. Therefore, Muge arrived here in Pakistan to assist the poor and needy in Lahore and as well as across Pakistan.  Furtherly, she also explained that bone marrow transplantation among children must be done before the age of five and for those who need to have bone marrow transplantation there must be a transplant bank over there.
