Surprising response from AJK in PCB Talent Hunt programme

MIRPUR (AJK) Great enthusiasm was witnessed among the amateur cricketers seeking entry into the ranks of the national cricket team as Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) continued talent-hunt trials for Under-16 players at the Quaid-e-Azam Mirpur Cricket Stadium here on Tuesday. Hundreds of local lads continue landing at Mirpur Cricket Stadium on the second consecutive day (Tuesday) to participate in the trials for the selection of fresh blood from amongst those under-16 year of age. The week-long trials have been managed by the PCB with the coordination of Pepsi cola entrepreneur and AJK Sport Board. The PCB-Pepsi Star Talent program for under-16 to hunt talent from boys born on or after 1-9-1994 has been launched across the country including Azad Jammu Kashmir, Talent-Hunt Officer and Selector PCB Abdul Raoof Mirza told this scribe at the Mirpur Cricket Stadium at the advent of the trials. The trials for talent hunt at this stadium would continue for a week, he added. Raoof Mirza said that it was a huge response on the part of the under-16 local lads participating in the trials. He was accompanied by Syed Rashid Ali, Assistant Coach PCB, Secretary Management Committee Mirpur Stadium Mirza Kalim Jiraal, Nawaz Rattyal, representative of PCB in AJK and acting President AJK Cricket Association, Syed Liaqat Hussain Assistant Director AJk Sports Board, Talat Mir, Fazal ur Rehman Alvi Gen. Secretary AJK CA, ex Cricketer Khalid Rattyal, Head Curator Tahir Shoukat and scores of other cricket fans.
