RAWALPINDI - The hearing of the money smuggling case against famous model Ayyan Ali was adjourned on Monday till 29th June due to lawyers’ strike as well as absence of the customs court judge.
According to details, the model was presented before the court amid tight security in armoured personnel carrier at the end of her earlier judicial remand.The hearing of customs’ plea to register money laundering case against the model was not conducted due to lawyers’ strike as well as absence of the customs court judge. Besides this Ayyan’s lawyer Latif Khosa also didn’t appear before the court due to strike against Daska incident as a result of which her judicial remand was extended for fourteen more days. The next hearing will be held on June 29.
It should be noted that the supermodel has been sent to judicial remand nine times following her arrest on May 14, 2015. Ayyan was nabbed by the Customs officials as she was allegedly carrying with her US $0.5 million approximately on a Dubai flight without declaring the money to the authorities.
Earlier, Ayyan was brought in district courts in armoured personnel carrier by the investigators owing to security threat. After the daylight murder of Pakistan Customs Inspector Chaudhry Ijaz, who had seized the amount from Ayyan at airport soon after her arrest, the security of Ayyan has been beefed up to avoid any untoward incident.A large number of people in cluding litigants and fans of Ayyan rushed to court premises to have a glimpse of the model who appeared from APV while wearing black glasses. The customs investigators did not allow any body to breach security circle.
