Bahawalpur Police bust gang of bike snatchers

BAHAWALPUR   -  Civil Lines Police on Tuesday claimed to have arrested the leader of Amiri gang along with two accomplices, involved in stealing dozens of bikes and robberies.

According to details, District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran took notice of the increasing incidents of bike snatching and robberies in the city and directed the Civil Lines police to arrest the suspects involved in crime.

A police team led by SHO Civil Lines, on a tip-off, carried out a raid and arrested Muhammad Umair alias Umairi, Muhammad Asif and Muhammad Saghir.

The suspects during investigation confessed that they had snatched 21 motorcycles on gun point worth lakhs of rupees. Police recovered bikes, weapons, cash and other valuables worth million of rupees. Police handed over keys of the recovered bikes to the owners who appreciated the performance of the police and paid tributes to the Bahawalpur police. They said that under the command of DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran, the Bahawalpur police was working day and night for the protection of the citizens.  

Speaking on the occasion, DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran said that it was the responsibility of police to give protection to every citizen. He said that stern action would be taken against criminals and they would be dealt with iron hand. He added that the minor crimes would stop when the big barons and criminal elements would be dealt with iron hands. The DPO appreciated the performance of the Civil Lines Police and announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police teams for busting the gang.

Meanwhile, Bahawalpur  District Police Officer Muhammad Faisal Kamran launched a campaign to arrest wanted persons in various cases.

In this regard, Bahawalpur police arrested Muhammad Imran, a notorious accused of “A” category.  The accused was wanted by the police in various incidents of robberies and dacoities in South Punjab. 

 According to details, in connection with the Proclaimed Offender campaign of Inspector General of Police Punjab Inam Ghani, DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran intensified the campaign for arrest of POs in Bahawalpur district. He directed all SHOs to arrest POs.  

Police arrested the accused Imran, who was involved in various incidents of robbery and dacoities in South Punjab.  The accused was also wanted by the Saddar Police Station in various cases.  

DPO Muhammad Faisal Kamran while talking to the officers on the occasion said that Punjab IG Mr Inam Ghani had a clear policy regarding the arrest of POs which would be adopted at all cost and no stone would be left unturned in this regard.
