JI asks caretakers to remove political appointees



PESHAWAR – Jamaat-e-Islami Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has demanded of the interim government to remove officials in various departments appointed on political grounds, in the province, aimed to ensure free and fair elections.
Addressing at a press conference here at the Press Club on Friday, JI District Peshawar, Ameer Bahrullah Advocate, said that the caretaker government should take steps to remove officials at high ranks appointed on political grounds in police, administration, revenue and other government departments after taking charge of the office, he demanded.
Accompanied by JI District General Secretary, Hamdullah Jan, Muhammad Iqbal and others, he informed that his party would launch its elections campaign by holding a big political rally on March 23rd, in district Peshawar.
He added that the JI central Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan will also address the rally. “We expect participation of more than 50,000 people, including party workers from various districts of the province, he said.
Bahrullah further said that they have formed different committee for holding this historic political gathering on Ring road near Peshawar motorway. A mass contact campaign was so far launched by the JI candidates for four National and 11 Provincial assembly seats in district Peshawar, he maintained.
Regarding the electoral alliance or seat-to-seat adjustment with other political parties, he informed that JI would give preference to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, followed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, and Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl, in seat-to-seat adjustment before the general elections. In this regard, he added party meetings have been scheduled with provincial leaders of PTI, PML-N and JUI-F on March, 16, 17 and 19 respectively.
He also claimed that Jamaat-e-Islami would form next government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with thumping majority.
