Incoming PML-N govt to truly reflect federalism

LAHORE - Former Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Wednesday the incoming PML-N government will take all parties along in the larger national interest. Addressing independent election candidate winners here, Shahbaz said his party had won the support of majority MNAs and MPAs in the Centre and Punjab, but it would prefer to take all parties on board and take them along since the present day called for steering the country out of the crises. Shahbaz affirmed the PML-N would set up government in the Centre which he said would truly reflect the federalism. He said the PML-N would hold the subject of economy on top of its agenda for which it would frame policies to increase resources, cut down expenditure and boost industry. The former chief minister said strong governments in the Centre and the provinces were a must to strengthen democracy as well as to achieve development targets. He said independents members joining the PML-N would not only help create a stable government but also to earn appreciation at the public level. The former chief minister, who is poised to become chief minister of Punjab for fourth time, said politics meant service to the people and not merely showing dreams to the masses. The election results in support of his party, he said, vindicated confidence of the people in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and an admission of the services his last government rendered in Punjab. He said he desired that the laptop, solar lamps, Ashiyana, students scholarship schemes expanded to the entire country, and were not limited to Punjab alone. He expressed the hope that the political parties forming government in other provinces would also take initiatives to introduce such schemes. On the occasion, the independently-elected members said that no other leader than Nawaz Sharif could deliver in this hour of trial on the country. They said they had contested elections telling the electorate in their respective constituencies that after win they would offer their seats to the PML-N.
