Steps being taken for swift disposal of ongoing cases: CJP Hameed Dogar

Abdul Hameed Dogar has said steps are being taken to dispose of ongoing cases in the apex court in an expeditious manner. Addressing a ceremony of distribution of donation cheques among various bars here, the CJP said the country had plunged into crisis after imposition of emergency on November 3, 2007 but a smooth and the peaceful transition of power later pulled it back from difficult times. He said he and his fellow judges are committed to ensuring supremacy of law in the country. The Supreme Court disposed of 991 cases in the current year, he informed. On the occasion, he distributed cheques of varying amounts in 16 bars of Sindh including those of Sukkur, Larkana, Mehar, Nawabshah, Jacobabad and Dadu.
