KARACHI  - The impediments in the way of Lyari Expressway would be removed for the early completion of this project.This was stated by the Commissioner Karachi, Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi, here on Thursday.During a visit to the project, the Commissioner said that every possible step is being taken for the execution of the Rs.8 billion scheme aimed at provision of prompt and signal-free travel facility to the people.He said that in this regard he has the cooperation of Administrator Karachi, Muhammad Hussain Syed, and the relevant departments.Hashim Zaidi directed the Deputy Commissioner West, Ghanwar Ali leghari, and Deputy Commissioner Central, Dr. Saif ur Rehman, to ensure that after removal of impediments, the project is handed over to the National Highway Authority (NHA) for its early completion.He was optimistic that this would be done by the end of January 2013 and the 5.3 km area would be handed over to the NHA.
