Augean stable astonishes new Hafizabad DC

HAFIZABAD-Better coordination between the administration and the media is necessary to resolve the public problems, said Deputy Commissioner Saleha Saeed.
In her introductory meeting with the local media, she pledged to clear Augean Stable by improving sanitary conditions, removing encroachments and traffic mess in the city which ultimately give new look to the city. She said that she was astonished to see insanitary conditions even outside the DC House. She, however, said that the problems of the people would not be resolved overnight but with concerted efforts of the administration, their problems would be resolved gradually. She told the media that she has divided the city into different sectors and the Sector Incharge would be held responsible for insanitary conditions in his sector.
She assured that all the ultrasound machines in the DHQ Hospital would be made functional and an Autorefractometer computer machines for eyesight diagnosing would be provided while posting of senior and experienced doctors would be ensured in the emergency ward of the hospital.
Referring to insanitary condition prevailing in the city, she said that she had directed the civic authorities to ensure proper sanitation in the city and disclosed that she has come to know that 30 scavengers of the MC were not working.
She warned the MC officers that she would show zero tolerance to the work shirkers, inefficient and corrupt officers. She also directed the MC to ensure erection of dustbins and filth depots as well as those lying near the schools be shifted outside the city to save the students from diseases. In this connection she stressed the need to motivate the members of civil society, traders and community to assist the administration to resolve the problems of the citizens. She was told that a mafia is working in the city which promote quacks and pushcarts owners which should be eliminated.
A journalist told her that half-hearted crackdowns on quacks had been made in the past but the influential quacks in the city have not yet been nabbed as they were patronised by in-service doctors and a mafia including corrupt officials of the health department. She was told that the quacks were not only playing havoc with the lives of poor and hapless patients but also increasing addicts by selling intoxicants .
GIRL ABDUCTED: A young girl is reported to have been abducted by unidentified accused from her house in Kot Fazil.
The police have registered a case against the accused on the report of her father Hanif but the police have neither arrested the accused nor recovered the abductee.
According to police source, 17-year-old Raheela was alone in her house when four unidentified accused intruded into the house and bundled her in a car and took her to unknown place.
