LARKANA - One candidate Ghulam Hussain of Tangwani fainted in scorching heat and rush of candidates during ongoing process of written test for the posts of PST and JEST being held at PTC under the auspices of IBA Sukkur for the past three days.
As many as 46,500 vacancies are to be filled through these tests which will continue till 26th September across six divisions of Sindh, sources said.
The fanited man was shifted immediately by his relatives to the casualty of the Chandka Medical College Hospital for treatment and further management. His relatives complained that IBA did not make proper arrangements for thousands of male and female candidates which should be taken notice of and they suffered a lot as each candidate paid Rs700 as fee for one post. They said no cold drinking water facility was available and improper personnel were deployed to clear the candidates which took them such a long time and candidates kept on waiting in a long row under open sky without any shade which mentally tortured them. This scribe also visited the venue and found long rows of girl candidates standing in a queue without any shelter in this sizzling hot weather which proved that IBA has not improved itself and is still incapable of getting tests on a massive scale. Paper started over four hours late and some candidates were also seen using mobile phones despite the fact it was prohibited. Cameras were faulty, walk-though gate was inoperative and quantity of fans was extremely meager as compared to attendance of the candidates which showed that incomplete arrangements were made by the conducting agency.
The candidates were asked to reach at 7.30am but their paper started at 11.30am due to which they lost their mental and physical energy. The candidates opined that it would have been better if the tests were conducted by the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC) but it too is inoperative on a court order and the Sindh government has done nothing to revive it despite passage of a long time.
