ISLAMABAD - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday issued notices to the Inspector General (IG) Islamabad police and other police officials in a petition filed by a woman against the alleged harassment by police. A single bench of IHC comprising Chief Justice of IHC Justice Athar Minallah conducted hearing of the case pertaining to harassment of a woman by police and entering her house without court warrants. Besides issuing notices, the IHC bench also sought comments from the IG Islamabad and SHO Koral within two weeks in this matter. The IHC chief justice issued the aforementioned direction in a petition filed by a woman Noshaba Usman who requested the court to halt the police from harassing her illegally. The petitioner’s counsel stated before the court that police were harassing his client.
