Police, Rangers hold flag march in Multan

MULTAN   -  Police and Rangers held a flag march on Friday following prevalent circumstances for maintaining law and order in country.

District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Ali Waseem led the march from Lahore Mor. In a statement issued here, DPO said law offenders would not be spared, rather dealt with iron hands. He said, the march was conducted to ensure detailed security arrangements for the holy month of Ramazan. He said police would work efficiently to ensure the protection of people’s lives and property.

First Friday of Ramazan observed as “Youm-i-Toba’

First Friday of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak was marked as repentance and forgiveness day ( Youm-i-Toba and Astaghfar ) in the city like other parts of the country to seek mercy for Allah Almighty against COVID-19 outbreak.

It was observed on the appeal of president, Dr Arif Alvi to religious scholars, prayer leaders and commoners to seek pardon from Allah Almighty for getting rid of global pandemic.

Big congregations of Juma prayers were held at Shahi Eidgah, Khanewal road. Eidgah Multan Cantt, Jamya Anwalul Aloom, Jamya Mosque, Khair ul Madaras, Faizan-i- Madina mosque, new Multan, tombs of Hazrat Bahauddin Zakariya, Hazart Shah Rukn-i-Alam, Hazrat Musa Pak Shaheed, Jalal Mosque Gulgasht and hundreds of other mosques. 

Stringent security arrangements were made for Friday Prayers in the city.

DG PHA for dynamic policy to generate revenue

DG Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) directed to evolve concrete policy for meeting recovery target since it was compulsory object to hold financial independence what he termed. 

While addressing to a meeting conducted under his chair here on Friday, Shafqat Raza asked the recovery staff to do their work diligently. He warned of zero tolerance for appearing lethargic in collecting publicity fee from commercial units spreading across the city. He said, they were searching out new avenues of generating financial resources to come out of previous losses. He said they were going on to auction LEDs displayed at different intersections to collect funds.

It would not only make roads and highways beautiful, increase revenue of the department remarkably, he maintained. He had sought performance report with regard to collecting publicity funds on daily basis. He asked the subordinate staff to evolve good strategy to achieve the needful within shortest time period.
