GUJRANWALA-Various FIA teams have accelerated the crackdown on human traffickers as a total of 19 suspects were arrested in Gujranwala division.
They include Abdul Salam, Zahid Mehmood, Afzal, Sadiq, Ali Khan and others, according to the official sources. After posting of new deputy director Mufakhar Adeel, the FIA teams also arrested six proclaimed offenders and 13 land rout agents from Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts in different raids.
Likewise, teams of Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) have arrested three accused including two revenue officials in a fraud case here the other day.
Official sources say that revenue officials - Ghulam Bari and Ghulam Hussain - with the connivance of a land grabber, Muhammad Boota, had allegedly tempered land record and transferred the land of a citizen to him. After a through enquiry, the allegation levelled against them was proved and they were arrested.
On the other side, dacoits and thieves took away cash, gold ornaments, vehicles, phones and other valuables in attacks here on Saturday.

In Sadar Wazirabad area bandits snatched Rs53 thousands, three cell phones from Ali Haider, in Nowshera Virkan robbers looted Rs50 thousands, gold ornaments and cell phones from Ejaz, in Satellite town area swindlers took away Rs. 45 thousands, cell phone and gold ornaments from a woman, in Aroop police station limit armed men took away Rs17 thousands, motorcycle and cell phone from Rauf, in Sohdra Ehan ali was deprived of Rs70 thousands, locket set and cell phones on gun point, in city Wazirabad area swindlers took away Rs27 thousands, two cell phones and gold ornaments from a woman , armed men intercepted Masood in Gondlanwala area and looted Rs22 thousands, gold ring and cell phones, in Sadar Gujranwala police station limit Haroon was deprived of Rs28 thousands, locket set and cell phones on gun point, and in Peoples Colony, area swindlers took away Rs37 thousands, two cell phones and gold ring from Nasrullah.
In theft incidents unknown thieves swept the houses of Tanvir, Tahir, Moman,Iqbal, Abdullah, and Amir while motorcycles of Tariq and Kamran were stolen from different places.
Meanwhile, two workers received burn injuries when factory caught fire here at Tatleywali Gujranwala. It was told that workers were busy in a plastic factory when suddenly it caught fire, resultantly Arshad and Babar Hussain received burn injuries and were rushed to DHQ hospital.
