Steps afoot to restore Quetta’s traditional beauty

QUETTA - Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana, has said that the incumbent provincial government was adopting measures on priority basis for the welfare of the people of Balochistan, adding that steps were afoot to restore the traditional beauty of Quetta city. 

These views were expressed by him while chairing the meeting of Steering Committee of Quetta Development Package held here on Sunday.  Directing the concerned authorities for timely completion of ongoing development projects under Quetta Development Package, including widening of Joint Road, Sariab Road, Sabzal Road, Link Badini Road, Western Bypass and improvement of Sirki Road, Chief Secretary Balochistan directed that quality of work of the project be ensured at any cost.

 Briefing participants of the meeting about the progress of development projects under Quetta Development Package, it was informed that out of Rs.6 billion reflected for 14 ongoing development schemes under Development Package, Rs.3 billion had already been released.

Meeting was attended, inter alia, by  Hafiz Abdul Basit, Additional Chief Secretary (Development), Planning and Development Department, Abdul Rehman Buzdar, Secretary, Finance Department, Dr. Umer Babar, Secretary, Communication and Works Department, Abdullah Khan, Secretary (Implementation), Planning and Development Department, Government of Balochistan and Commissioner Quetta Division, Suhail-ur-Rehman Baloch.
