Clean and Green Islamabad  Board meets

ISLAMABAD - A high-level meeting of ‘Clean and Green Islamabad’ board chaired by CDA Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed was held at CDA headquarters here on Friday. Shafaq Hashmi Administrator MCI, representatives of CTTI Islamabad, renowned jurist and lawyer Riaz Hanif Rahi, representatives of Horticulture Society Islamabad, representatives of the Ministry of Climate Change and DG Environment CDA attended the meeting. 
On this occasion, the Chairman CDA while issuing instructions said that in order to make the federal capital more beautiful and attractive, same type of trees and plants should be planted on every highway, intersection, roadside slopes, green belts so that it has its own identity. 
He told the participants to introduce modern techniques for tree plantation and ensure monitoring. 
He instructed to plant beautiful trees along the drains.
Meanwhile, CDA Chairman also issued orders to set up a portal to involve the citizens in tree planting matters and ensure full participation of the citizens. In addition, the CDA Chairman also issued orders to conduct survey of vacant lands in Islamabad so that tree plantation can be done there.
The chairman further directed that STP water be used for horticulture, and a public campaign be organised every Friday at F-9 Park for plant care and awareness. In this regard, the Chairman issued instructions to formalise TORs of the Board and reconstitute the existing committee to involve citizens directly in it, according to the officials.
