SA adopts unanimous resolution in support of op

KARACHI - The Sindh Assembly on Monday passed a resolution unanimously, supporting ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ operation launched by the Pak Army against the terrorists in North Waziristan Agency.
The lawmakers of the Sindh Assembly keeping aside their political divide witnessed united in supporting the Pak Army’s ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ operation against the terrorists.
The Sindh Assembly, which met with Speaker Agha Siraj Khan Durrani in the Chair after concluding the debate on the annual budget, took up two resolutions moved by PPP’s Sindh Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro and MQM’s Irum Azeem Farooque separately.
MPAs from all the parliamentary groups including the PPP and the MQM from the treasury benches, PML-N, PML-F and PTI from the opposition benches voted in favour of the resolutions.
The Sindh Assembly through adopting the resolution strongly supported the Army operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in North Waziristan against the militants and terrorists. Despite all efforts for peace through dialogue, the enemies of Pakistan have continued challenging the writ of the state which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and destruction of property.
The resolution read out as: “The operation launched by the Pakistan Army is a welcome step towards eliminating these terrorists who had waged a war against the state of Pakistan and had been disrupting out national life in all its dimensions, stunning our economic growth and causing enormous loss of life and property. They had also paralysed life and had perpetually terrorised the entire peace-loving and patriotic local population. These terrorists can even sneak into urban cities of Pakistan after the operation where they can carry out small attacks in the cities in retaliation and to divert the army’s attention from the operation.”
Through the resolution, the Sindh Assembly expressed its wish to valiant Armed forces every success to eliminate terrorists in operation “Zarb-e-Azb”, and whole nation stand united behind them. 
No speeches were delivered on the resolution as all the MPAs from government and opposition benches voted in support of it.
Later, Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon while talking to the media men outside the Sindh Assembly said the provincial government wholeheartedly supported the operation against the terrorists. Police and Rangers have been put on high-alert in Karachi, he said.
Meanwhile, leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly, Shaheryar Maher said the operation against terrorists was the need of the hour.
PTI’s MPA Hafeez Uddin, whose party supported the resolution in the house, said the government was confused over the operation.
Deputy speaker Shehla Raza praised the Pakistan Army calling it amongst the best in the world. She expressed hope that the operation would be successful.
Earlier, during the prayer for the victims, the lawmakers offered prayer for the success of operation against the terrorists.
