NFC Award meaningless, says Jamil

QUETTA - Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti son of slain Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti has said that Baloch nation was not expecting any good from rulers who gave a safe passage to the killers of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti. Talking to the newsmen on Tuesday, he said on March 17, 2005 more than 60 innocent people were killed and dozens of others wounded after security forces attacked the house of Nawab Bugti in Dera Bugti. 'Five years have been passed to this incident but so far nobody has been arrested, he added. Jamil Bugti said that the supporters of former rulers were claiming that Nawab Bugti had picked up the gun and challenged the writ of the government ,therefore, military drive was launched. 'Let met tell them, Nawab Bugti was in his own house on March 17, 2005 when security forces brutally attacked his house , he added. He said that when Nawab Bugti had been talking about provincial autonomy former rulers had branded him as traitor but now rulers themselves were talking about provincial autonomy. However, Jamil Bugti said that Balochistan issue had gone beyond the provincial autonomy and now packages or NFC Award were meaningless for Baloch nation. Responding to a question, he said that he did not think that India was assisting Baloch fighters. 'India even did not make any protest when dozens of Hindus were killed in Dera Bugti due to bombing of security forces five years back while Pervez Musharraf was given a warm welcome in India, he added. He regretted that accused who were nominated in the FIR of assassination of Nawab Bugti were roaming freely. Investigation into his killing was nothing more than lies, he added.
