General elections bestowed great success on PML-N in Multan

Contrary to the Election 2008, the fresh polls have brought big success to the PML-N in Multan as it succeeded to win four out of six national assembly and 11 out of 13 provincial assembly seats of the district. At a time when the total vote of PPPP has dipped by 40 per cent in Multan, the vote bank of PML-N has gone up by 100 per cent.
An analysis of results of four urban national assembly and nine provincial assembly seats reveals that the PML-N got more than double votes. The total of four PML-N candidates from NA-148, 149, 150 and 151 in last election stood at 156149 while its candidates got 331467 votes in recent election.
According to the details, PML-N candidate from NA-148 Abdul Ghaffar Dogar got 42819 votes in previous election while this time his score stood at 81784.
Similarly, Sheikh Tariq Rasheed got 37143 votes in by-election while this time he secured 73861 votes from NA-149. Rana Mahmood ul Hassan got 57774 from NA-150 in 2008 but this time his total stood at 79663. It is interesting to note here that Rana Mahmood ul Hassan won with less votes in 2008 but lost in 2013 despite achieving much higher number. Malik Majid Bucha was the PML-N candidate from NA-151 in 2008 who could win just 18413 votes but this time the new candidate Malik Sikandar Hayat Bosan got 96159 votes.
