Turbat human traffickers held, four at large

Four of 15 victims belong to Sialkot

GUJRANWALA/SIALKOT -  The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two persons involved in human trafficking and killing of youth in Turbat while raids are underway for the arrest of other four perpetrators.

SHO Waqar Awan while addressing a press conference said that about 15 residents of Punjab province were killed by unknown persons in Turbat while crossing the border illegally. After receiving information about the incident, the FIA teams conducted raids and arrested two agents including Tanvir Cheema and Zafar Iqbal involved in the human trafficking. He said three youth including Zafran, Ghafoor Ahmed of Sialkot and Ghulam Rabbani of Jamke Chattha were killed in the incident. The FIA got registered cases against human trafficker Tanvir Cheema, his nephew Rashid Cheema of Sialkot and Zafar Iqbal, Abid Hussain, Sajid Hussain and Haji Sabir of Jamke Chattha because they have allegedly received money from their heirs to send them Greece.

Meanwhile, another human trafficker was held by FIA for allegedly demanding ransom for the release of a youth. SI Mohsin Waheed said that Riaz and Seema, the parents of immigrant Rahib Ali, gave an application that agent Bashir Ahmad has received Rs260,000 from them to send their son abroad. However, they alleged, the accused had kidnapped their son and now were demanding more money for his release. On the application, an FIA team raided Mandi Bahaud Din and arrested accused Bashir.

Meantime, people are mourning the brutal killing of four innocent persons who among others were gunned down by unknown attackers near Turbat the other day.

Four out of fifteen slain youth belonged to Sialkot district. They were sent to Quetta by local human traffickers and their agents after getting big amounts from their families.

The grieved families have strongly protested and demanded stern legal action against the human traffickers.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a notorious human trafficker accused Tanveer from village Mundair Khurd, Sambrial tehsil.

FIA Divisional Deputy Director Khalid Anees said that the accused Tanveer and his nephew Rashid Cheema, living in Turkey, had sent two persons  Abdul Ghafur son of Noor Muhammad and Zafran son of Muhammad Zahid, the residents of village Bhagwal Awan to Turkey via Iran after getting Rs150,000 each. He said that Abdul Ghafur and Zafran were gunned down by some unknown accused near Turbat-Quetta among the 15 persons.
