LAHORE - The Allama Iqbal Inter-divisional Squash Championship commenced here at Punjab Squash Complex on Tuesday. This is the first divisional level tournament being held in a decade under the auspices of Punjab Squash Association (PSA). DIG Traffic Police Punjab Sohail Sukhera inaugurated the tournament. PSA President and Secretary Local Government Noorul Amin Mengal along with Director Tournament Mamoon Khan, Vice President Admin Muhammad Amjad and head coach Fahim Gul were also present on the occasion. In the two-day championship, four different categories of U-11, U-13, U-15 and U-17 were competed. DIG Traffic Police Punjab Sohail Sukhera said that Pakistan has ruled the world in the game of squash for many years and desired to see Pakistan regain the same glory. Mengal said that the plan to hold the event is to start competitions at grass root level to implement the vision of sports promotion from the base.
