Mujtaba stuns Talavar in ITA-Midcourt Int’l Jr Tennis

LAHORE - Mujtaba Ali Khan of USA stunned second seed Yunes Talavar of Iran in the ITF Pakistan ITA-Midcourt International Junior Tennis Championships boys singles second round match at PTF Tennis Complex Islamabad on Tuesday. 
Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Salim Saifullah Khan visited PTF Complex and witnessed some of the matches and appreciated the performances of the players. ITA President and RDA Chairman Tariq Mahmood Murtaza also visited the PTF complex, interacted with the players and had a photo session with the participants. He went around to see the arrangements and thanked the PTF management for providing all possible assistance and support to ITA for the conduct of the event. 
Mujtaba Ali Khan was in great form and played tremendous tennis to trounce second seed Iranian opponent Yunes Talawar by 6-1, 6-0. In other boys singles second round matches, Nikita Safonov (RUS) beat Raza Ghaus (PAK) 6-4, 6-4; Amir Asylkozhaev (RUS) beat Kohshi Ishibashi (JPN) 6-3, 6-0; Abhishek Thorat (USA) beat Aki Zuben Rawat (NEP) 6-0, 6-0; Aryan Giri (NEP) beat Bilal Asim 6-3, 7-5; Aarav Samrat Hada (NEP) beat Abdul Hanan 6-0, 6-1; Dmitry Bessonov (RUS) beat Ahmet Ataby 6-4, 6-2 and Teano Balducci (FRA) beat Hamid Israr (PAK) 7-6(7),6-0. 
Meanwhile in the girls singles second round matches, Natalia Zaman was the only Pakistani player, who advanced to the next round by beating Sheeza Sajid (PAK) 2-6, 7-6(3), 6-4, while rest of the local players were lost their second round matches against their respective opponents. 
In other girls singles second round matches, Sharvani Shrestha (NEP) beat Amara Khan (PAK) 6-0, 6-1; Taylor Goetz (USA) beat Amna Ali Qayum (PAK) 6-0, 6-1; Abhilasha Bista (NEP) beat Zainab Ali Raja 6-1, 6-0; Sai Harshitaa Adivi (IND) beat Fatima Ali Raja (PAK) 6-1,6-1; Ekaterina Suvorova (RUS) beat Soha Ali (PAK) 6-0, 6-0; Olga Sorochkina (RUS) beat Zara Khan (PAK) 6-0, 6-1; Daria Stefania Malaescu (ROU) beat Zahra Suleman (PAK) 6-2, 6-0. 
In the boys doubles first round, Nikita Safonov/Fedor Sosedkin beat Ahmed Nael Qureshi/Hussnain Ali Rizwan 7-5, 6-1; Aarav Samrat Hada/Aki Zuben Rawat beat Jai Dutta/Raza Ghaus 6-2, 6-3; Abdullah Adnan/Sami Zeb Khan beat Ahmet Atabay/Yunes Talawar 7-5, 7-6(7).
