Wapda chairman visits Golen Gol project

LAHORE - WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen (r) Muzammil Hussain has urged upon the project management for completion of Golen Gol Hydropower Project according to the set timelines.

During his visit to the project in Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Wapda chairman visited various construction sites including weir (dam), diversion tunnel, powerhouse, switch yard and transmission line to review progress on the project.

The project management briefed the chairman about the construction work done so far on the project. Golen Gol Hydropower Project is being constructed on River Golen Gol, a tributary of River Mastuj. Power generation capacity of the project is 108 megawatt. On completion, it will contribute 442 million units of low-cost hydel electricity to the national grid every year.
