With just one major change, the PML-N has finalised its candidates from all six National Assembly and 13 Punjab Assembly constituencies, The Nation has learnt.
The PPP has already named its candidates from entire South Punjab but the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf is still in process of finalising its ticket holders from Multan. The change took place in PP-200 where the PML-N cancelled the ticket given to Malik Ahmad Hussain Dehar and declared the constituency open. The defection of former federal minister Malik Sikandar Hayat Bosan from PTI and joining PML-N worked as catalyst for the above mentioned change as the ticket for NA-151 went to Bosan and subsequently the ticket of his old rival Malik Ahmad Hussain Dehar was cancelled.
Now, the brother of Bosan namely Haji Shaukat Hayat Bosan runs from PP-200 as independent candidate but the PML-N voters will automatically vote for him as his elder brother is party’s candidate for National Assembly seat. Highly upset on cancellation of his ticket, Malik Ahmad Hussain Dehar, who had just defected the PPP and joined PML-N, has decided to contest election against the Bosans from both the constituencies NA-151 and PP-200 as independent candidate.
On the other hand, the issue of NA-152 was also settled by the PML-N leadership and the ticket was given to Javed Ali Shah. Earlier, Syed Mujahid Ali Shah, a cousin of Javed Shah, had filed his nomination papers from PP-204 against Nawaz League candidate Rana Ijaz Noon on which the party leadership asked Shahs to either withdraw the nomination papers of Mujahid Shah or get rid of NA ticket. Mujahid Shah has withdrawn his papers.
The candidates from rest of the four National Assembly constituencies have already been finalised and the party has granted tickets to them. The former ticket-holder from NA-148, Abdul Ghaffar Dogar, has got a ticket for the same constituency, Sheikh Tariq Rasheed for NA-149, Rana Mahmoodul Hassan for NA-150 and Dewan Ashiq Bokhari for NA-153.
Similarly, Malik Anwar Ali will be party's candidate for PP-194 slot, Amir Saeed Ansari for PP-195, Abdul Waheed Arrain for PP-196, Haji Ehsanuddin Qureshi for PP-197, Shahzad Maqbool Bhutta for PP-198, Barristor Muhammad Ali Khokhar for PP-199, Mazhar Abbas Raan for PP-201, Rai Mansab Ali for PP-202, Rana Tahir Bashir for PP-203, Rana Ijaz Noon for PP-204, Mehdi Abbas Langah for PP-205 and Naghma Mushtaq Laang for PP-206.
Tickets create rift in PML-N: PML-N’ announcement of tickets for national and provincial assembly seats of Gogra has created rift within the party.
According to PML-N decision, former MPA Chaudhry Khalid Javed Warraich is nominated ticket holder for NA-92, Gogra, his wife Fauzia Khalid Warraich for PP-84, Gogra, and PML-N City President Malik Qadeer Awan for PP-85, Gojra.
However, the decision disappointed the hopeful candidates of the PML-N. Disappointed PML-N leader Osama Hamza, hopeful for NA-92, Gogra ticket, has announced that he and his panel Ch Asad Zaman Cheema for PP 84 and fomer MPA Ihsanulhaq Gujjar for PP 85 will contest election as independent candidates.
Similarly, PML-N Tehsil President Ch Afzal Pakhi, former Tehsil Municipal Committee chairman Mujahid Noorpuri and former UC nazim Aslam Pansari have also announced to oppose PML-N ticket holders and to support Osama Hamza and his panel candidates at Gojra.
PML-N ISSUES TICKETS: The PML-N parliamentary board issued tickets to all of its three National and seven Provincial assembly candidates on Wednesday.
Nominated candidates included: Chaudhry khalid Javed Warraich for NA-92, Haji Junaid Anwaar Choudry for NA-93 and Chaudhry Asadur Rehman for NA-94.
