Margalla Festival pulls crowd

Islamabad - The third annual Margalla Festival 2015 of Capital Development Authority (CDA) is in full swing at Arts and Crafts Village.
A large number of people from twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi also visited the Arts and Crafts Village to enjoy the festival. Margalla Festival is being organized by the Directorate of Sports and Culture, Capital Development Authority (CDA). The purpose of the Margalla Festival is to provide best recreational and amusement opportunities to the residents of the Federal Capital and the surrounding areas. The four days festival will continue from 4:00 pm till late night.  
Cultural artists and folk signers from all four provinces including Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and Chitral will amuse the audience with the best professional artistic skills and vocals, while different stalls have also been established.
The artists and folk signers including Fazal Jutt and Mulazim Hussain from Punjab and Krishan Lal Group from Cholistan will also perform in the festival.
Leva Dance Group from Balochistan and different cultural artists and folk singers will also participate in the Margalla Festival.
Cultural Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with its performers including Khattak dancers, artisans and folk signers will also amuse the audience with their skills, while special group from Gilgit-Baltistan will show their cultural colours.
Entry of the public in the festival is free. Member Administration, Amer Ali Ahmed has directed the Director General Sports and Culture, CDA to supervise the arrangements of the Margalla Festival in person to make the cultural event successful.
Earlier, Federal Secretary CAAD, Khalid Hanif inaugurated the Margalla Festival on Thursday night. The senior officers of CDA were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
On this occasion the secretary CAAD said that being civic agency it is responsibility of CDA to provide better recreational opportunities to residents of the federal capital. He said that such activities would not only be helpful in flourishing and revival of national traditions but will also promote soft image of the country. He said that being federal capital of the country, Islamabad is symbol of unity for all federating units and participation of artists from all parts of the country will provide an opportunity to the residents to observe the national heritage and culture.
While appreciating the tremendous efforts of CDA for organising Margalla Festival - 2015, he said that such activities would not only provide recreational opportunity but would also help promote rich culture and heritage of Pakistan.
