CNG holidays down to 2 days in Punjab

ISLAMABAD (NNI) - Ministry of Petroleum Wednesday decided to slash spans of gas load shedding at CNG stations in Punjab and Potohar regions to two days. According to the settlement reached between petroleum ministry and CNG Association, the duration of gas load shedding would be brought down to two days from next week. Ministry officials said the load shedding span cannot be cut further thanks to the scarcity of gas. Moreover, the officials said, written assurance were being given to CNG Association that Petroleum Levy would not be imposed and CNG prices would be pegged at 47 per cent below petrols. It has also been decided that a special committee will be set up for resolution of issues facing CNG sector. The CNG Association had previously announced to go on strike from August 24 for an unspecified period.
