ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has been moved seeking an inquiry commission to be constituted to probe the allegations levelled by PML-N Senator Mushahidullah Khan against a former spymaster.
Advocate Tariq Asad moved the petition requesting the SC to constitute a commission to probe the allegations against former ISI chief Zaheerul Islam. The petitioner said this is not the first time that such claims were made about the ISI, adding Defence Minister Khawaja Asif had also accused General Zaheer of plotting against the government.
He said that relationship between Pakistan's civilian governments and the military has often been tumultuous with the three coups since after independence of the country in 1947, and in the prevailing circumstances such allegations are prejudicial to the integrity and security of the country.
