One killed, 8 hurt in remote control blast

District Police Officer Sarfraz Ahmed Falki constituted three investigation teams under the supervision of SP Investigations to investigate Chanigorth bomb blast incident which claimed the life of a vendor while eight other sustained multiple injuries.
According to a press release issued here, these investigation teams will be headed by Ahmedpur East ASP Mahzor Ali Ghauri, Bahawalpur City DSP Shafqat Atta and DSP Orgnized Crimes Naveed Mumtaz.
On the other hand, the Chanigoth Police have registered a case of bomb blast incident against unidentified persons under sections 302, 324, 427, PPC, 3/4 Explosive Act and Anti-Terrorism Act on the report of Sub Inspector Haji Muhammad Arshad.
According to details, on Friday around 9.30pm, a remote control device exploded at Chani Goth Chakkar, killing a fruit vendor identified as Muhammad Imran while eight others identified as Riaz Ahmed, Farooq, Shahbaz, Shan, Akhter, Zafar, Waqas and Abdul Jabbar sustained multiple injuries. It has been learnt that an unidentified person came at the push-cart of a fruit vendor Rao Imran and placed a bag under his cart, with the request that he was going to toilet and will pick it up on return. When the suspect did not turn up, Imran informed the Chani Goth Police but in the meantime, the bomb exploded, killing him instantly. The roof of a nearby shop was collapsed and dozens of push-carts badly damaged. Bahawalpur DCO Imran Sikandar Baloch, DPO Sarfraz Ahmed Falki, the EDO Education visited the scene.

 and discussed with ASP Ahmedpur East Mahroz Ali Ghauri and SHO Chanigoth. Meanwhile police and intelligence agencies have started the investigation into the incident.
