Rana for joint efforts to quell terror

Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana M Iqbal has stressed a need for collective and individual efforts to crush terrorism in the country.
He was talking to newsmen here after attending the wedding ceremony of former MPA Ch Tahir Mehmood’s sister. He said that the whole nation was united and termed it a major step towards the elimination of terrorism. He said the whole nation stands united against terrorism and ready to sacrifice even their lives to win the war against.
He said that the government was committed to weeding out terrorism. He said that it was also striving to provide the safer Pakistan to the coming generations. MPA M Ikram, PPP stalwart Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and former MPA Tahir Mehmood were also present.
Meanwhile, Sambrial police have registered a case against three accused Waqas Hunjra, Amjad Ali Mughal and Sheikh Abdul Waheed for giving Rs200,000 funds to Jamaatud Dawa in Sambrial.
A case has been registered under ATA 11-N 1997. Meanwhile, Sambrial police have registered a case under 16 MPO and 153-A PPC against accused Malik Muhammad Nawaz for selling the hatred material in CDs at his music centre in Sambrial. Police have sent the accused behind bars and further investigations were underway.
