Rulers plundered national exchequer: Siraj

PESHAWAR - Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Sirajul-Haq alleged on Sunday that rulers had plundered national exchequer with both hands by sending $293billion to foreign banks, which was regrettable.
“The rulers who are unable even to provide free education to people, have no right to rule the country anymore,” he said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of a three-day Youth Festival held under the auspices of JI at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium.
Free education, unemployment and old-age allowances would be in the priority list of JI, if it came into power, he said adding, “What kind of people are ruling this country, where parents sell out their valuables and jewelleries for educating their kids.” This bad governing system had compelled youth to play in wrong hands and become either dacoits or thieves, he said.
“Today’s youth is uneasy in the existing system and certainly wants a change. The country where we are living, the rulers have nothing for the welfare and development of common man,” Sirajul Haq said. He added that our rulers just want to please the US.
But, “No doubt that US had ever ruined its friends too much than that of its foes”, he said adding Yemen, Syria and Iraq are its examples, if anyone there did not believe in this reality. He asked rulers to mend their ways by giving too much weight to people of this country not others.
Sirajul Haq said that no one should be given the portfolio of being education minister, if his or her own kids are not studying at government run schools. “We will enhance education ratio up to 90 per cent in the country if we came into power.”
He said that JI would launch a massive movement against corruption by coming March.
“We will arrest those who have looted the national exchequer to return the looted money back from them,” he said.
He said that JI Ameer in Bangladesh Mati Ullah Nizami was executed for loving Pakistan. He said that he had requested PM Nawaz Sharif to take up this issue at diplomatic level, but unfortunately, he did nothing. The JI youth festival function was also addressed by JI KP Ameer Mushtaq Ahmad Khan and others.
