Zardari, Bilawal condemn rape, murder of girl in Mardan

ISLAMABAD - Former President and Pakistan People’s Party’s Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday strongly condemned rape and murder of four years old girl Asma in Mardan district and called it unacceptable and unpardonable offence.

Expressing concerns over increase in such dreadful incidents in the country, Zardari said strong steps will have to be taken to stop such incidents. Sympathising with the family of innocent Asma, he said, this was a tragedy for the entire nation.  In a statement, he asked the Pakistan People’s Party leaders and workers to extend all possible assistance to the bereaved family.

He said that it was ironic that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government had not yet approached the bereaved family. He demanded arrest of culprits and harshest punishment for them.

Meanwhile yesterday, Pakistan People’s Party’s Chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also strongly condemned brutal rape and murder of Asma and demanded swift justice for the victim’s family.

In a statement, the PPP Chairman said that rape and murder of three innocent little girls in Mardan was a heinous crime and stressed that culprits should be caught and severely punished as per law. Bilawal said that innocent girls in Kasur and Mardan districts were being subjected to inhuman and worst atrocities by vultures, adding that silence of the rulers in two provinces was an unpardonable act.

Bilawal said the PPP would not remain quiet on molestation and rape of the nation’s daughters anywhere and demanded immediate arrest of the butchers involved in these horrific incidents.
