Two killed in separate incidents in Kasur

KASUR   -  An elderly man was burnt to death while a rickshaw driver was killed in separate incidents around the city on Sunday.

According to police, Juma Khan (90) of Khara village was sleeping in his house after burning woods to beat the cold when a sheet of his chorpoy caught fire, due to which, he received severe burn injuries and died on the spot. The old man was alone at home during the happening. Police were investigating. In another incident, rickshaw driver Khalid (27) was killed when his three-wheeler  overturned near Mirkot canal Chunian due to over-speeding.

Man arrested for killing sister

Mustafaabad police arrested an accused who shot dead his sister over domestic issue here on Sunday. Police said that Kousar Perveen r/o new colony, Mustafabad submitted an application in which she stated that her son Wasim Akhtar (18) quarreled with his sister Sawera Bibi over domestic dispute few days ago. In a fit of rage, he opened fire, killing her on the spot. The accused later threw the body into BRB canal near Katlohi and managed to escape. Police registered case and arrested the accused Wasim, while further investigation was underway.

Cash, gold ornaments looted in various incidents

Robbers made off with cash, gold ornaments and valuables in various incidents in and around the city during the last 24 hours. The first incident happened in Badar Colony at Saturday late night where six robbers looted Rs 700,000 and seven-tola gold ornaments from the house of Sheikh Islam. In another incident, two robbers snatched Rs 20,000 and a mobile phone from a motorcyclist Muhammad Arslan near Raja Jang. An armed person snatched Rs 10,000 and a cell phone from Shafiq near Pakki Haveli, Ferozpur road. Similarly, two robbers deprived a motorcyclist Muhammad Waqar of Rs 15,000 near Haveli Sohan Singh. In a theft incident, some thieves stole Rs 1.3 million from Muhammad Ali Arhat in Grain Market Chunian. Police were investigating.
