LAHORE - The 4th Commissioner Karachi Winter Basketball Coaching Camp concluded at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Courts Aram Bagh, Karachi where 50 promising players were trained under watchful eyes of qualified coaches.
According to KBBA President Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest and distributed kits and certificates among the participants of the camp. He also gave away track suits, blankets and prizes to the supporting staff. Other notables present on the occasion were Assistant Commissioner Aram Bagh Michlee Naeem, Shahida Parveen Kayani, Khalid Jamil Shamsi, M Saleem Khamisani, M Arshad, M Akhlaq, Asif Azeem, Ghulam Abbas Jamal Advocate, Shahzeb Advocate, Kashif Farooqi, Asad, Tanveer Ahmed, Tariq Hussain, Ashraf Yahya, Zainul Abidin, Zaima Khatun and others.
Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon said: “Training in any field of human life is of utmost importance. It is very important to conduct coaching in sports fields. The Karachi Basketball Association’s organization of Winter Coaching Camp is an exemplary process. Other sports organizations should continue this process and introduce talent. I will continue to patronize the fields for the development of the fields.
“All possible steps will be taken to settle the grounds and provide facilities to the players with the help and cooperation of sports organizations and organizers. In this regard, a tour of the city’s playgrounds has been started. A tour of South Districts and Korangi has also been started. I will inspect the playgrounds and the problems will be resolved. In this regard, the local bodies and district administration have been directed to play their role through mutual cooperation,” he added. He said CM Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Chief Special Instruction of Sindh Secretary Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah have been doing great work for sports. “All sports venues will be used for sports only. On the occasion of PSL, the city will be made an ideal city of the world.” He also announced that the 5th Commissioner Karachi Cup Basketball Girls and Boys Tournament will be held from Jan 28.
