CM Buzdar pledges all-out support to Gilgit-Baltistan

LAHORE    -   A delegation, led by Gilgit Baltistan (GB) Chief Minister Barrister Khalid Khursheed, called on Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar at his office on Monday.

During the meeting, it was agreed to further expand the bilateral cooperation along with the promotion of inter-provincial harmony.

The Punjab chief minister assured the delegation of collaborating with the GB government for digitisation of land record system and the establishment of a medical college there. “The Punjab government will also provide 15,000 metric tonnes of wheat to the GB government along with the continuation of all-out assistance to improve the civic amenities,” he assured and pointed out that the Punjab government had always extended technical assistance to other federating units.

“The people of Gilgit Baltistan are our brethren and Punjab will continue extending its every possible support to it,” the CM observed and announced to visit GB soon.

Khalid Khursheed thanked Usman Buzdar and invited him to visit Gilgit Baltistan. “The Punjab government’s cooperation will enhance brotherhood and the passion for national unity,” he added.

Both leaders strongly condemned Indian atrocities against Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Usman Buzdar asserted that the Pakistani nation stood by their Kashmiri brethren like a solid rock. “No power in the world can detach the immortal relationship,” he added.

GB Health Minister Haji Gul Bahar, Food Advisor Shams Lone and others were included in the GB delegation, whereas, Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, SMBR, and the secretaries of food and specialised healthcare and medical education departments were also present.
