Marriyum demands ban on Imran’s speeches

Former federal minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokeswoman Marriyum Aurangzeb on Wednesday demanded the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ban the speeches of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Wednesday, Marriyum asked that which cabinet issued former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s jail trial notification.

“Today, the interim federal cabinet has withdrawn the notification pertaining to Nawaz Shairf and his daughter Maryam’s jail trial in Al-Azizia and Flagship references,” she added.

The PML-N spokesperson said, “This behavior is not new for us, but think about the country, what message does this conveyed abroad.” She claimed that ECP remained silent on PTI’s foreign funding case and even Imran Khan’s fake property papers’ case underwent no action or investigation.

Marriyum said that Imran Khan is constantly given exemptions, while Shehbaz Sharif is summoned by the NAB on daily basis. She further said that no corruption case was proved against Nawaz Sharif nor his relation with Avenfield properties was proved. “Even the JIT report could not do any harm to the former PM,” she claimed.

Commenting on Nawaz Sharif’s arrest, Marriyum said that the former prime minister returned to Pakistan to get arrested not go to Raiwind. “Nawaz Sharif was not even provided with a bed in jail,” she said.
