rawalpindi - Adiala Jail authorities on Tuesday have not permitted a female senator, workers of PML-N women and lawyers wings to meet the detained ex-premier of Pakistan Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

Following the denial on part of jail authorities, the workers of PML-N Women and Lawyers Wings held a protest demonstration against the superintendent and other staffers outside Adiala Jail.  They chanted slogans against jail authorities and in favour of their beloved leader Mian Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar. “Give respect to vote” was the most echoed slogan being chanted by the protestors.

According to sources, PML-N Senator Nuzhat Sadiq arrived at Adiala Jail to have a meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who have been jailed by an accountability court. However, the jail authorities denied permission to meet the jailed former president of PML-N Mian Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif.

The jail authorities have intimated the female senator that according to the jail laws, she could meet Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz Sharif only on Thursday. On this the senator returned home without seeing her beloved leaders. The women wing workers staged a protest demo outside the jail and pledged to support Mian Nawaz Sharif in the upcoming general elections.

Similarly, a delegation of lawyers associated with PML-N Lawyers Wing Rawalpindi also visited Adiala Jail and tried to meet the detained PML-N ex-chief Mian Nawaz Sharif. Nonetheless, the jail authorities had not allowed the black coats to have a meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif, sparking a protest demonstration by the lawyers.

The lawyers chanted slogans against the government and jail administration and in favour of Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
