Aurat March delegation calls on Bilawal

KARACHI -A delegation of the organisers of Aurat March called on the Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Bilawal House on Wednesday.
The delegation apprised the PPP Chairman about the problems being faced by the organisers and the participants of Aurat March besides the security concerns because a false propaganda had been unleashed against them. Aurat March delegation also appreciated PPP Chairman for his party’s continuous support for women rights and women empowerment in the country. Bilawal said that the role of women was very important in all national spheres of life and strong women voices had shaken those who undermined their abilities. He mentioned his mother Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto while talking about threats faced by women. The delegation also comprised of representation from the transgender community who explained problems faced by them. The PPP Chairman applauded the organisers of Aurat March for highlighting the issues faced by many women and regretted the misuse of blasphemy laws by some elements just to target the participants of Aurat March. Bilawal listened to the demands of the delegation and assured them that the PPP-led Sindh government would continue its support for women rights and look into the demands made by them.
