On Thursday, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi telephoned UN Secretary General António Guterres.

The both sides discussed issues of mutual interest, including the noble pandemic situation, the Afghan peace process, Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the law and order situation in the region.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said despite the global pandemic, the active and dynamic role of the UN Secretariat is a testament to your leadership skills.

He also expressed pleasure over António Guterres's consent for reappointment as the UN Secretary-General.

UN Secretary General António Guterres thanked the Foreign Minister for reassuring Pakistan's support for his re-appointment as Secretary-General.
