Ministerial berths doled out to new entrants

ISLAMABAD - Reshuffling the cabinet, the PPP-led government on Wednesday allocated portfolios to the newly inducted federal ministers and ministers of state. The portfolios have been given to six federal ministers and 10 ministers of state and after the allocation of these ministerial berths, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has once again been given to Qamar Zaman Kaira. Besides this, Samsam Bukhari becomes the new Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting. However, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan who was handling the affairs of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has now been appointed as Federal Minister for National Regulations and Services. Former Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture Nazar Muhammad Gondal has been allotted the Ministry of Capital Administration and Development while Rana Muhammad Farooq Saeed will now be the Federal Minister for Climate Change. Former Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf becomes the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Maula Bux Chandio who was earlier handling the affairs of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs will perform as Federal Minister for Political Affairs. Meanwhile, MNA Malik Ammad Khan will again be the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs while Tasneem Qureshi who was the Minister of State for Interior will now be the Minister of State for Water and Power, besides Imtiaz Safdar Warraich who is also a provincial president of PPP in Punjab has been given the portfolio of Minister of State for Interior. Sardar Muhammad Muazzam Ali Jatoi is the new Minister of State for National Food Security and Research; Malik Azmat Khan, Minister of State for Interprovincial Coordination; Raheela Baloch, Minister of State for Science and Technology; Dost Muhammad Mazari, Minister of State for Communication; Sardar Saleem Haider, Minister of State for Defence and Abbas Khan Afridi is the new Minister of State for Commerce.
