Three men attacked a woman with acid, with two others also being injured, today in the Dang district of Gujrat.

As per details, three motorcycle-riding men threw acid on the girls as they were waiting for their university bus at the bus stop in the morning. The victims are said to be the students of University of Gujrat.

According to one of the victims, her uncle Abdul Qadeer along with his son and friend Hussam Owais threw acid on her and her friends.

Upon the girl’s identification, Owais was taken into custody by the police.

According to Dang district’s Station House Officer (SHO), the victim’s uncle attacked her for turning down a marriage proposal.He assured that the two other accused will also be arrested soon.

Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice of the incident and has asked the district police officer to submit a report.

The girls were taken to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital where they are being treated at the burn unit.

A search for the remaining two suspects is underway.
