Police sub-inspector succumbs to lawyers’ torture on LHC premises

LAHORE   -   A sub-inspector of police died Monday after allegedly being tortured by lawyers on the premises of the Lahore High Court (LHC). According to police, Sub-Inspector Suleiman brought an accused to the court for hearing of a case, but the lawyers present in the courtroom exchanged hot words with him and allegedly tortured him after the hearing. As a result, the sub-inspector fell unconscious and later breathed his last. Acting Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Shehzada Sultan took notice of the incident and sought a report from the LHC SP Security. The CCPO said that stern action would be taken against those involved in the incident on the basis of evidences and postmortem report.
