Asif Zardari condoles Prince Falahuddin’s death

AHMEDPUR EAST -  Former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari visited the residence of Amir of Bahawalpur Nawab Slahuddin Abbasi in Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore and offered his condolences on the sad demise of his younger brother Prince Falahudin Abbasi.

According to a press release issued to local media, Prince Bahawal Abbas Khan Abbasi was also present on the occasion. The former president was accompanied former premier Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, PPP central leader Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat and former Punjab governor Makhdoom Syed Ahmed Mehmood. No political discussion occurred during this 45-minute long meeting.

Meanwhile, Sahibzada Muhammad Umer Abbasi, former leader of opposition in Bahawalpur District Council informed that the next round of meeting will be held between Asif Ali Zardari and Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi soon in which political affairs of Southern Punjab will be discussed. A spokesman of Sadiq Garh Palace refused to comment on Asif Zardari’s recent meeting with Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi.

INJURED: PPP district information secretary Rana Salim was injured in a traffic accident near Ashraf Sugar Mills Bahawalpur. He was on the way to attend a PPP meeting summoned by PPP South Punjab General Secretary Natasha Daultana. He was rushed to Aftal Clinic Ahmedpur East where PPP leaders and journalists came and inquired after his health. His condition was stated to be stable.
